Philly Ramblings

I had to go to Philly for a wedding this weekend. I don't go to that many weddings so a few things were a little strange but we'll get into that later. The trip down was great I set a new personal record for time, made it door to door in 5 hours and 6 minutes. And yes I keep track of these things!


I couldn't wait to get my first WAWA coffee and lemon Tastykake to go with it. Most of you have no idea what WAWA is but take Store 24, add in 7-11, throw in your corner sub shop and then put it on steroids and you have WAWA. Yes I know the name is dumb, deal with it and move on.


The actual ceremony was quick and fairly painless. Thankfully it was non-denominational so I didn't have to listen to all the religious nonsense. It was pretty clear that the bride had taken a sedative before the ceremony and the groom was either bombed or stoned because he laughed through the whole ceremony. I'm not sure who was more pissed the bride's mom or the pastor. Is it a pastor if the wedding is non-denominational? What do you call her? These things confuse me.


I'm just glad it's over, I hate having to talk to people I don't know. I don't care what your wifes name is, what college your kid goes to, and I really don't care what you do for a living because I'm fairly certain it's boring.


We'll do a lot of driving around today before heading back early tomorrow morning. I am stopping off at Tony Luke's for some food and there is absolutely no way in hell I'm bringing any of it back for you Smiddy.


Anybody what me to bring back anything? WAWA coffee, some Tastykakes, maybe a few cheesesteaks? And yes I said a cheesesteak not a steak and cheese. Get it right people.

90210 (2.0) Update

Ok……so Dylan is the dad!! I still can’t believe it. I am actually pretty upset that they didn’t stir it up and have it be Brando’s or Steve’s. I am not going to boycott about it but I am pretty upset by it!!!

Moving on….So we found out in tonight’s episode that Donna has a baby.

This episode was decent. I was watching it with a bunch of friends and we were all saying that if the old cast wasn’t on this would we watch it? I said probably, but after last night episode I am not as sure. It didn’t grab my attention and I found out that painting my nails was better.

Naomi is on a war path to get her family back together. She snoops while her dad is in the shower and finds out that Gail is in CA. When she finds out where she works she goes over to Ethan’s and explains what is going on. She is determined to get her family back together. When Naomi confronts Gail about the affair Gail expresses how much she loves Naomi’s father and that she has moved from Denver where she will now be staying in Naomi’s family’s beach house. This devastates Naomi and she warns Gail to stay away from her father. Naomi goes home and tell her mom what went down and her mom was upset. She didn’t think that the affair was going strong she thought it was much like a fling every now and then.

Dixon borrows the family car to drive to school. He has a big old caravan. While backing up into a parking space Dixon clips the side mirror off of the car next to him. In order to avoid telling Dad and insurance, he says that he will pay for the car to be fixed out of his pocket. Bring on the Peach Pit. Dixon applies to work at the Peach Pit, and gets hired on the spot after we hear Nat talk about another “West Bev” student that he hired years back. Dixon definitely now has his plate full with school, lacrosse, having a job, and tyring to have a social life. Dixon and Silver are definitely heating up! Loving this plot, hopefully it is going to bloom even more next week.

Annie…Annie..Annie……she is just a lost soul….she wants Ethan then she wants Ty. She really wanted to try things out with Ethan..but like Silver said “Ethan and Naomi will always have a connection” Annie sets up a date with Ethan but he cancels out last minute leaving Annie thinking that she really screwed things up with Ty. You always want what you can’t have. Hard lesson but we all learn it at some point. Annie is keeping herself busy while not thinking of the boys by working hard at the school play. The director of the play quit , leaving the play directorless. Grandma Wilson then steps it up and tries to take over as director. She is nothing but mean and bossy leaving Annie even more upset about the play. This girl just has Drama, drama, drama. Enter Brenda Walsh as the new director for the school play and she is wonderful. My personal opinion is that Brenda should be in every scene. She is great! Hopefully the rumors that have been floating around for the past few days that she is back in talks with adding more episodes to her contract because as of now she has only 2 left! She did look a little haggard and used last night….but we still love her!

Scenes for next week: Annie – will she or will she not have sex with Ty?? That is the question that we were all left with ….i think who the eff cares!! We want to see Dylan come back ….and Donna!!!

As far as the city of Pittsburgh goes:
The people are friendly.
The city is clean.
The bars are always packed.
They love the Steelers and not much else.
They don't know who Mayor McCheese, Birdy, Grimace, or the Fry Guys are.
You can't get a taxi after a Steelers game!
PNC park is probably the best park so far.

I will post pictures from the digital cameras as I download them or they are sent to me. I am probably going to have to detox for a few days. I am exhausted and overall my body aches.

ADSL Season 3 - Fantasy Football Update:

I don’t even know where to begin. I’m supposed to do a weekly review of our fantasy football league but I have to take a few minutes to talk about what happened the last two days in the NFL. I think there is an argument to be made that this was the best non-playoff NFL weekend I’ve ever seen. Anything that could happen did happen on Sunday. The Matt Cassel era began on Sunday and there aren’t many things to complain about. It won’t be very exciting but the Pats will still win 12 to 14 games this year.

Peyton Manning and the Colts were dead in the water until they decided to start playing in the 4th quarter. And yes, Anthony Gonzalez is the best possession WR on the Colts. Did you see the wind during the Titans/Bengals game? Talk about playing a slice, you had to aim a FG attempt 15 yards outside the uprights to even have a chance. Welcome to the NFL Mr. McFadden you can take Larry Johnson’s seat at the big boy table. Vikings, Jaguars, Seahawks, Chargers, Browns all ‘Super Bowl Contenders’……welcome to the 0-2 club gentlemen. I seriously could write a paragraph on each game.

And then Monday night came along. That was one of the most exciting first halves of football I’ve ever seen. 72 yard bomb to T.O, then a KO return for a TD, a fumble recovery for a TD, Desean ‘Action’ Jackson tossing the ball backwards before reaching the end zone….WHAT!!!! It never stopped, back and forth back and forth it went all game long. Things quieted down in the second half and McNabb insisted on doing what McNabb does so well. Plays a great game and then pisses it down the drain on a stupid play. Put the ball in his stomach Donavan not on his hip. WHY DAMMIT, why must you do things like that 4 or 5 times a year.

On to the Fantasy League. Huge week for Whitley’s Madd Niggerish putting up 150.5 points and add onto that another 100+ points on the bench. Why do I have a feeling the Defending Champs will be discussing trade options with Niggerish in the near future. Speaking of the Defending Champs, looks like they won’t be receiving that $75 bonus for low week. The new low week belongs to The Slippery Wizards. Too bad Action Jackson didn’t hold onto the ball for another yard or Defending Champ would still be clinging onto the lowest week honors. I guess they need to pay that $100 before the beginning of week 4 after all.

High scoring for almost everyone this week. Six teams went over 100 points which is rare in this league. The Costanza Award for Week 2 has to go to SFLABO. With Colston out for a few weeks and Cutler riding a hot hand how could he not start Cutler over Brees? That move cost SFLABO a win this week.

The kids are back from Pittshurgh on Wednesday so we need to decide where to watch the games Sunday. I’ll be in Philly the rest of the week but should be back in time for the 1 O’clock games.

PITT pt 2

So the guys will be making their way back from PITT later this afternoon, and Im sure they need rehab or a vacation from vacation. Here are some more pics they sent me along the way. Derek tried a deep fried burger, though it sounds good I am sure he felt awful after eating it and may have needed to go the ER. Chrissy ate a 36oz steak from Jerome Bettis's joint, and im sure he puked after like he did at the Wing A Lympics. It appears to me that Smiddy had a good time he had his thumbs up and a kool aid smile in every picture so far. Jeffrey rocked the cowboy hat and he wore it well. Mike I couldnt agree with you more about the Matt Cassel era. Now I saved the best for last, the Midget in the bar about to slide down the pole is hysterical. Whats even more funny is that the bar uses a midget to draw in the crowd, but did anyone notice the confederate flag on the wall?? Nothing short of amazing if you ask me.

The candid 22-year-old “Transformers” star, who’s currently engaged to actor Brian Austin Green, opened up to GQ about her love life, telling the magazine she was once in love with a female stripper. Fox, who appears on the October cover in a black bikini, said she was in the relationship when she was 18 and first living in Los Angeles alone.

“Well, that year my boyfriend broke up with me, and I decided — oh man, sorry, mommy! — that I was in love with this girl that worked at the Body Shop,” said Fox. “I decided that I was going to get her to love me back, and I went out of my way to create a relationship with this girl, a stripper named Nikita.”

Fox said Nikita would do “these beautiful slow dances to Aerosmith ballads.” The actress also said she would bring the Russian stripper gifts and try to inspire her to quit her line of work.

Fox’s publicist, Dominique Appel, confirmed the contents of the GQ report Monday.

Despite the brief relationship with a woman, Fox said she does not identify herself as gay.

“Look, I’m not a lesbian,” said Fox. “I just think that all humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes. I mean, I could see myself in a relationship with a girl — Olivia Wilde is so sexy she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox with my bare hands. She’s mesmerizing. And lately I’ve been obsessed with Jenna Jameson, but ... oh boy.”


Fox also defended Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens regarding their racy photo scandals and said that she doesn’t like Disney because they take “these little girls, and they put them through entertainment school and teach them to sing and dance, and make them wear belly shirts, but they won’t allow them to be their own people. It makes me sick.”

Could this girl get any hotter you got to be fucking kidding me right. What more could anyone ask for she is gorgeous likes girls and Brian Austin green is the luckiest son of a bitch in the world. I think i would cut off my right toe to see her and a girl go at it.

Jessica Simpson

I'm 100% in favor of of sports figures dating other high profile celebrities.  Especially if they look like Jessica Simpson.  But is it asking too much to ask the 'significant other' to keep their freaking mouth shut?  I don't see Giselle prancing around in a pink #12 Brady jersey.  I don't recall hearing Mia Hamm yapping about the yanks when Nomar was a Sox.  Chrissy Evert wasn't making a complete ass of herself while Greg Norman was making another charge at a major earlier this year.  Was she?

Am I asking too much?  And what makes it even worse is she wouldn't know a football from a softball.

Pittsburgh Update

Well just a quick update from the kids in Pittsburgh. Michael has decided he will be Sid Bream for the remainder of the weekend. For those of you who are not baseball fans Sid Bream was thrown out at home plate in game 7 of the 1992 NLCS which let the Atlanta Braves beat the Pirates to advance to the World Series. Needless to say Sid Bream does not have many fans in Pittsburgh.

A nameless person on the roadtrip got everybody kicked out of the bar at 1am because he can't handle his alcohal and puked all over the place. I have yet to confirm this but I believe the individual in question is the same guy that puked after the Wingolympics a few weeks ago.

Everybody is aware of the hatred that the citizens of Pittsburgh have for anybody from Cleveland. But the real secret rivalry is between Pittsburgh and my home town of Philadelphia. So the E.A.G.L.E.S.....EAGLES!!!! chant performed in the middle of a bar did not go over well. Thankfully nobody was injured.

Sons of Anarchy: Episode 2

So after watching the first episode and really enjoying it, I decided to watch the 2nd episode and it was a good one. This episode is about the MC gang dealing with the aftermath of their actions from last week, when they decided to take revenge against a rival gang and executed some of their members for blowing the Sons warehouse with the illegal firearms in it. Jax is starting to show a softer side it seems largely due to the fact of his newborn son still being cared for in the intensive care unit because of his drug addicted ex wife. Another factor for Jax soft side could also be from the journals that he found in storage (last weeks episode) ,which were written by his deceased father. Jax appears to be leaning towards the lets use or brains against our rivals, because violence is not always necessary against the rivals or at least he thinks that. Jax devises a plan to stage a murder to cover up the murder of the 2 girls at the warehouse. Here they are trying to remove the 2 girls bodies before a forensic team can get in and pin the murder on the SofA, so jax and his crew dig up 2 dead bodies from a local cemetery and stage a murder scene to draw the police and forensics away from the warehouse to by themselves time to remove the bodies of the 2 girls. Kind of sick if you ask me but, also genius at the same time.

Now lets talk about this manuscript that Jax father wrote years ago and seems to be the backbone of the show, because I'm starting to get the feeling that something huge is gonna happen from Jax reading it. In this episode Gemma (Jax mom), searches through Jax room looking for the manuscript, it appears that there is something shes hiding and doesnt want him to see or find out. Only time will tell on this one, should be interesting.

In the 2nd episode they also showed how the SofA have the current police chief in their pockets, by paying him off to look the other way while they commit crimes and give out beatings to those who get in their way. However, the current chief is old and nearing retirement and the man next in line seems to be playing hardball and wont be bought out so easily. This in turn makes the leader of SofA (Clay) very angry and forces the chief to stay on a little while longer until the SofA can get their gang back in order from all the problems that have come with the retaliation against another gang known as the Mayans. The deputy chief seems that he is gonna be a big problem for the SofA, we will have to wait for further episodes to find out. Another character pops up in this episode that we met in the first show briefly(Opie), he is a construction worker who left the MC lifestyle behind for his family (wife and kids) but when we see his financial problems getting the best of him and his wife he chooses to get involved with the SofA again. Though his wife doesnt appear to happy about him doing so, it seems that he is gonna play a big part down the line on the show and the pay off may be just what they need. I don't know i am just guessing on this one.

We see many feuds between brewing after just 2 episodes, we have the mayans and the SofA battling over turf, then there is the feud with Gemma and Tara (Jax old girlfriend), Gemma and Wendy (the ex wife of Jax), Opie and his wife, largely in part of him deciding to go back to the SofA and lastly the deputy chief and the SofA. Why is Tara back in Charming as a Pediatric doctor if she could have gotten a job anywhere in the country but chose to come back to the place she hates. Interesting?? O ya and we cant forget the incident in the mini mart, where Jax beat some guy up in the store because he cut him off on the highway and almost made him crash with the 2 dead bodies in the vehicle on their way to stage the murder. One has to think that incident this might come back to bite the boys of SofA in the ass. Guess we'll have to wait to find out. Anyways judging the 2 episodes so far it seems that the show is gonna be a good one to look forward to watching this fall on Wednesday nights at 10pm.

Celebrity sightings in Pitt !

90210 (2.0) “ Lucky Strike”

Sorry this is a day late and dollar short, but here goes…

Episode 2 wasn’t as good as the first episode last week. Maybe it was just a big let down because of all the hype from week one, or because after watching the episode Brenda was no where in site! With that being said here is a summary of the show and some of the highlights….

The sexual tension between Ethan and Annie is growing stronger by the moment. Of course Annie is trying to date Ty (popular, rich, drama club person) and Ethan has his lingering issues from his recent break w/ Naomi. So both Ethan and Annie are not really sure the other person is interested and that leads to a situation where they are both a little confused. I like them together so I hope it will work out!

Naomi finds out that her dad is cheating on her mom and she is, of course, heartbroken as she witnessed her Dad kissing another woman. When Naomi tells her mom what she saw, her mother tells her that she knows all about the other woman and that her father has been seeing her for 2 years. Naomi is even more disturbed by this news and clearly has no idea what to make of the situation. It is unclear to me if the Dad knows that the Mom knows he is cheating.

Jackie Taylor made an appearance this episode. She has fallen off the wagon and Silver has been staying at a local woman’s shelter to avoid going home to a drunken Jackie. Once this is discovered by Dixon, he convinces Silver to tell his Dad who in turn tells Kelly (because Silver is Kelly’s sister and Dixon’s Dad and Kelly are friends from way back). Once Kelly learns about the situation she confronts Jackie and ends up taking Silver to live with her. Also on the Silver front, it seems like there might be some chemistry between her and Dixon! I think it’s cute and am rooting for them to end up together.

Those are the major storylines for this week! I am going to stick with it a little longer to see if it can get back up to the caliber of the debut episode. Until next week......Katie & Kristine

SUCK IT UP VINCE!!

What in the wide, wide world a sports is a' going on with Vince Young? In the last three days:

* He got all pouty-faced after getting booed for throwing two picks Sunday. People who witnessed it said he seemed to be emotionally checked out of the game and appeared unwilling to go back on the field.
* After a three-and-out by the Tennessee defense, the offense took the field, only without their QB. “I came on the field and 10 wasn’t in the huddle. I didn’t know what the situation was,” said center Kevin Mawae.
* Jeff Fisher then began yelling at Young on the sidelines and it looked like he practically shoved Young into the huddle.
* After the game Fisher told reporters Young told him his hamstring was bothering him (he never told the trainers) and that's all their conversation was about.
* Three plays later, Young left with a knee injury, stuck around for an hour after the game and left without answering questions.
* Monday night, Fisher called the Nashville police over concerns that Young was emotionally distraught and might hurt himself. The cops found him in his car with an unloaded pistol in the glovie.
* Today the Titans issued this statement: “Last night, we received a call from people that are closest to Vince informing us that he had left his house in a state of mind that had them concerned; and that he was unreachable..."
* Now Young's agent is saying that everything is super swell. Young was on his way to a buddy's house to watch MNF, nothing more to be seen here, folks, let's all go home citizens.

What the hell is that all about? Right now no one knows whether Young has serious mental problems, can't handle having mean things yelled at him from the stands, or if he was just on his way to watch Mike, Mike & Mike call the Denver-Oakland game. I do know this: It's times like this that reminds me of all that is good about rooting for the Patriots. Vince Young goes out for a few weeks with a knee injury and Jeff Fisher... who's the longest-tenured coach in the NFL... finds himself presiding over a media circus that makes the Terrell Owens suicide attempt saga look like C-SPAN. Meanwhile, the Pats lose Pigskin Jesus for the year, he walks off the field battered but proud like Marlon Brando at the end of "On the Waterfront" and he and Belichick will only say how it's a tough break, but they're looking forward to seeing how the boys respond the rest of the year. That's how a champion deals with adversity. Apparently Young's Wonderlic score got it right.

Police arrest Kanye West at LA airport

Police say they have arrested Kanye West at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of vandalism after an altercation with a photographer.

An airport spokesman says police also arrested West's bodyguard shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday.

Airport spokesman Marshall Lowe says early reports are that West got into an altercation with a commercial photographer and a camera valued at more than $10,000 was broken.

The incident happened before West and his bodyguard, who was not identified, went into a security checkpoint at the airport.

Lowe says police are continuing to interview witnesses and West may be booked later this morning.

A call to West's publicist in New York was not immediately return.

Well I will start off with I am not a fan of Kanye He is a capital Whiner.....and most of his songs suck. If I ever wished a cop would sprinkle some crack on someone and charge them with possession of a controlled substance it would be for this fake gangster cry baby.........

Batman 3 Possible Villians

"The Dark Knight" is still on the tip of everyone's tongue. But now, instead of folks breathlessly asking each other if they've seen it, talk has turned to speculation over Batman's next foe. Who's it gonna be?

iVillage is reporting that the Caped Crusader may take on the Riddler in "Batman 3." According to the rumor mill, Johnny Depp might sign on to play the nefarious super-criminal. But caveat emptor—this could be just as false as the one about Crispin Glover playing the Joker.

Slashfilm notes that there are additional possibilities floating around. For instance, Phillip Seymour Hoffman may play the Penguin or Angelina Jolie could don Catwoman's skin-tight suit. Truth or fiction, fanboys around the world must be having a heart attack at the mere possibility.

Still, the "official" rumor mill is just one of the ways superfans are checking in on the next Batman flick. Many seek the scoop themselves. We've noticed impressive searches on "batman 3 rumors," "dark knight sequel casting rumors," and "batman's next villain."

That last query is very telling. People clearly want to know the answer, but we doubt even the filmmakers have decided. To that end, may we offer the studio execs this humble piece of Search-informed advice: Go with Catwoman. She's far-and-away the most popular baddie and there are already a slew of searches on possible cast members including Jessica Biel, Amy Adams, and, wait for it, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Do fans think Rachel Dawes, Bruce Wayne's one-and-only, was really the Catwoman all along?

Ok i will just start off with Hoffman as the Penguin would be right on the Money........Johnny Depp as the Riddler could work but Angelina as the Catwoman hell no.......................

PITTSBURGH

Well the boys made it to Pittsburgh despite all the nervousness with flying on 9/11. So far it seems like they are bored out of their minds and just killing time, because they have sent numerous random pictures to me via cellphone. However they did seem to score some tickets to see the Pirates against the Dodgers for monday night. Sorry smiddy i know your leaving monday so you lose this time. RED SOX

So the Red Sox lost last night in 14 innings. This is gonna be a long few weeks for baseball fans, we are now 2 1/2 back and i think if the Red Sox can pull it off and get back in first it will help ease our pain of the Brady saga. Don'f forget that we have 3 games left against Tampa still in their house next week. Well we can always look at it like this that the Yankees still suck and are fading fast I LOVE IT!!!
