ADSL SEASON 5 – Weekly Review/Preview

Don’t have too much to say about last week so lets take a look at the topic of the week…..TRADES, or the lack thereof. So lets take a quick look at it and see if we can get to the bottom of this. Since we don’t play our flex player the only real reason to have one is to help facilitate trades. Considering the rosters are locked on how many players we can have at each position the flex player is a necessity to make trades work. So what exactly is the problem people? I can understand you not wanting to trade with me since I’ll write about it for the rest of the year. And to be completely honest I really don’t need your help finishing in 9th place….I’m perfectly capable of doing that by myself. I realize a lot of people are afraid of being on the wrong end of a Gore for Johnson trade but without the risk there is no reward. Besides, if I had it to do all over again I’d do the same trade again.

With that said maybe we can take a look at some rosters and suggest some trades that would be fair for everybody.

UNMARKED BILLS: Needs a back-up QB, a starting Defense, but has good depth at RB and WR
SFLABO: Has good depth at QB and Defense but could use some help at the RB spot.
Easy solution: BILLS can send Favre, Arian Foster, and Colts D to FLABO in exchange for Vick, Felix Jones, and San Fran D. Foster is a huge number to give up but BILLS gets a top 5 Defense, a QB in Vick that may be the free agent pick-up of the year, and Felix Jones who will be the #1 RB in Dallas. Risk vs reward! Give up one stud to get a real starting defense and potentially 2 other starters.

THE SLIPPERY WIZARDS: With the pick-up of Brandon Jackson they have good RB depth but are a little weak on their TE’s.
SKZA’s SOLDIER’Z: Need a back-up RB to prepare for the inevitable Ronnie Brown injury and SKZA is deep at RB.
Easy solution: SKZA sends Gonzalez and Fred Taylor to the Wizards for Brandon Jackson and Winslow.

BOBBY BROWNS OTHER KID: Really strong at WR but could use some help at the RB position.
BEACH BUMS: strong at RB but needs some WR help
Easy solution: There are so many obvious trades here that work for both teams. Jones for Mike Williams, Demaryius Thomas for Beanie Wells, Forte for Wayne? But who knows with these lovebirds. You know those 2 sit in their truck all day trying to figure out how to trade T.O. to Rob for a back up defense or some shit. Giving the league the ability to veto trades was created because of these two.

WHO’S HOT:
Dustin Keller: 115 receiving yards, 1 TD, 25.5 fantasy points
Colts D: 1 DTD, 1 INT, 2 DFR, 4 sacks, 22 fantasy points
Jay Cutler: 277 passing yards, 3 TD, 29 fantasy points
Clinton Portis: 2 TD, 15 fantasy points
Dolphins D: 10 PA, DTD, 3 INT, 1 DFR, 3 sacks, 25 fantasy points
Jahvid Best: 76 rushing yards, 154 receiving yards, 3 TD, 49.5 fantasy points
All of SKZA’s WR’s that he didn’t start
And my favorite HOT PLAYER of the week. Mike Sims-Walker: 105 receiving yards, 1 TD, 10 receptions, 25 fantasy points. I told you he was resting up for later in the year….try to keep up SKZA!

By the way…..all on the freakin’ BENCH

WHO’S NOT:
Jonathan Stewart: 43 rushing yards, 4 fantasy points
Chris Johnson: 34 rushing yards, 19 receiving yards, 1 FL, 5.5 fantasy points
Maurice Jones-Drew: 31 rushing yards, 1 FL, 3.5 fantasy points
IGGLES WR’s
Michael Turner: 7 fantasy points
Brett Favre: 3 INT, 2 fantasy points
Hines Ward: I’d write his stats if he had any worth mentioning, 0.5 fantasy points

YOU GUYS MAKE THE CALL:
Now listen very carefully SKZA. The Commish chased Sims-Walker all year long last year. You have to break the cycle….sit him this week and start him next week.

All of you laughed at FLABO when he grabbed Vick instead of Brandon Jackson…well who’s laughing now? The question is Flacco is going against Cleveland and Vick against Jacksonville. Who you got FLABO?

That’s 2 weeks in a row DEVILS have had Best on the bench. You’d be in first place if you had played him…..so now it’s week 3. Is the 3rd time the charm?

Wes Welker or Calvin Johnson…..Calvin Johnson or Wes Welker? Whatcha got WIZARDS? I’d say Welker but you are the TEAM TO BEAT so I don’t want to interfere with your potential dynasty.

Darts Update Week 3

After 2 terrible weeks of losing matches 8-3, we really needed a good showing this week to avoid falling so far back that the playoffs would be out of the question. Supah P showed up clean shaven and ready to play. CBV flew back from Cali sporting a new ring on his left hand. Derek found a whole new game and is looking like an all star and Jeb decided to get in the mix. This along with Mark, me and the rest of the boys should have been good enough for a 9-2 win. Well, I guess the team is going to take baby steps as opposed to giant leaps to get back in the playoff picture. MIA this week was Kodiak who was in NY getting busy with the bitches and Jeffrey who has been recently spotted on milk cartons.
Although this was not one of our best performances in darts, it was definitely one of the best nights for music in the history of Peggy O'Neills thanks to Derek "Mike FM" Whitley. Over 90 songs were played and "P" and I could only complain about 1 song each. Well done sir!
We even found a new theme song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muj26g3eugU&sns=em

Anyway, the results of the match are as follows:
601's = split the 2 games to go 1-1
Cricket = Took 2 out of 3 to go 3-2
301's = split the 3 games to win the match 6-5

Next week we take on the team from Ups and Downs (The Pony Room) so if you are out looking for a beer and a few laughs stop on by and if you end up slumming it in Peggy's and see Leslie congratulate her for the big win in Keno skins. She probably made more money in skins thanks to DW, P, Chuck and me than she did in tips for the night. At least she did the right thing and bought us a few shots.

I know a few of Mr. Booze's fans actually look forward to my Tuesday night recaps and I am Sorry for taking the week off last week. I was in NY for a once in a lifetime golf trip with some great friends on an awesome course. I know this post is average at best, but I am saving a gem for next week. I had to mail something out as a surprise so I can't reveal it until I know it reached it's destination...stay tuned!

Text of the week

This comes from Mikey T via SFlabo:

Tmx quotable from sflabo FWD: Ha spend my whole life trying to get into dresses now at 44 im trying to stay out of one. go figure

This made me laugh when I read it. I don't know if its the thought of Sflabo in a dress or the actual trying to get into dresses part but it was a good one.

Wheres Marc Summers?

Why aren't we going to do this?
Everyone knows I COULD FUCK UP A PHYSICAL CHALLENGE...

Boo hoo - PATS LOST

This whole year is flying by. We are jumping from season to season - and I mean sports season to sports season not winter, spring, summer and fall.
At first we were all looking forward to the Sox season but now they have a snowballs chance to make the playoffs.
Then we were waiting for this Pats season and every one had the Jets game checked off. If the Pats keep playing like they did yesterday then we are in for a long season.
The Bruins just started training camp this weekend and play their first preseason game this Saturday night. Just another season.
The Celtics will be starting their training camp as well. Not to mention college football started 2 weeks ago(even though the Georgia Bulldogs are 1-2 and Mark Richt may be fired before seasons end).
There is always a little something for everyone.

Lets see what I learned this weekend:
1. The heads or tails Oreo's are the shit!
2. The Hong Kong in fanuel hall opens in 3 weeks.
3. The rookie hockey games at the Garden were like watching a mens pick up league...just sloppy.

4. Steven Kings "Under the Dome" was a really good book. Then again like everything there is some weird alien/monster twist.
5. Work always seems to fly by when you have a project to do and no one bothers you.
6. I had no idea that Chester Chetos makes hot fries.

7. A smile goes a long way especially with a little please and thank you thrown in.
8. Smiddy loved The Town. He said its the best movie ever shot about Boston.
9. A whole weekend without one beer is refreshing(But should I feel like someone beat the shit out of me).
10. Martell went to his first Nascar race up in Loudon and he absolutely loved it.
11. Mikey T thinks the Pats all go into the locker room at halftime and look at family pictures of Brady, Giselle and the kids.
