Salmonella Concerns Intensify

January 16, 2009 ATLANTA - Concerns about salmonella intensified yesterday, a day after Kellogg Co. asked stores to stop selling its peanut butter sandwich crackers until it can figure out if the peanut paste is contaminated.

A salmonella outbreak has sickened more than 430 people in 43 states and may have contributed to five deaths.

Kellogg gets at least some of its paste from Peanut Corp. of America, which has recalled 21 lots of peanut butter made in Blakely, Ga. Kellogg urged consumers not to eat its Austin and Keebler peanut butter crackers until regulators end their Peanut Corp. investigation.

Yikes!!! All you peanut butter lovers - be on the look out! My friend Kaelan has been eating the Keebler peanut butter crackers for weeks and now she is switching to the cheese ones because she is scared....and rightly so.
