Haute Takes

Likes: Starbucks Pumpkin Coffee, Uggz, Barre Class, Pilates ,BRUINS hockey and FENWAY

And thus reads the FB page of every female age 16-35.  And so well encapsulates why both the Sox and Bruins organizations are in a tail spin.

Look I'm not a hockey guy. Growing up that was a your parents aren't divorced sport. And goddam if my parents were getting up at 5am

Nor am I baseball guy. Sure I played till high school but generally those who were blind until age 4 have sucky eye hand coordination. So, I grew to hate it.

What I am though is a blogger with a ferocious appetite for truth.  Look I'm not saying there are no true sox and Bruins fans out there. There sure are. The guy still keeping score himself at the sox. A fan. The guy who managed to keep his sanity during 90s bruin hockey. A fan.

But here's my haute take. GENERALLY THE HEALTH OF  A SPORTS ORGINAZATION IS LINKED TO ITS NUMBER OF FEMALE FANS.

Look I'm a modern man. Not a feminist but not mysoginist either. But look the higher number of female fans a team has in Boston the less true fans you'll find.

Notice pre 2004. You went to Fenway was it a complete sausage fest. No but, it still somewhat resembled what other baseball stadiums resemble elsewhere in the country. Then whamo 04 World Series happens. Sox are hot. And like the Swallows of Capistrano the "Pink Hats" flood in. And conversely scumbag Henry and crew are there to take their money. And now Fenway is just a shitty stadium where baseball is a second thought and a bachelorette party destination.

Roughly the same occurred to the Bruins. For years Bruins games where the Mecca for Malden Youth Hockey Coaches with a drinking problem and other unsavory elements. Bruins win the cup and again the Hats come flying and again there's an even scummier ownership group there to poach the shekels of the female element.

In summary the Circus state of each organization can be attributed to this. once the Pink Hats emerge, much like  when a lion sees a deer , the scumbag ownership groups of both organizations can't help themselves  and become less concerned with the quality of the product. Suddenly their #1 concern is gouging the single 27 year old nurse from Braintree and her friends at a game. They're willing to transform a hockey/baseball game into an overpriced circus just to cater to them.

And you can't fault the ownership. There billionaires, they made billions because they love money. So they can't say no when a pack of girls want to hear sweet Caroline as long as they are paying 10 bucks a beer.

The fault lies totally with the bandwagon jumping New England Pink Hat. Your willingness to shell over 10 bucks for beer and worse attend concerts at there shitty venue (Red Sox) has essentially killed not one but 2 sports organizations.

So take note nationals and Orioles fans a little bit of success may be your nail in the coffin too.The minute you see your first bachelorette party at a game it's probably too late.

I Know

I actually debated back and forth, if I should do a Bruins game 7 review. I am still pretty pissed off but after seeing the Lil Crusher picture again, my mind was made up. Onto the review!!

After work MikeyT and I went over to the Garden area to grab some food and meet up with Rio and Big Bob. We decided on Porters for an early dinner. The food was ok but the prices were fantastic, Chrissy if you go down that area for an afternoon game it is right up your alley, our bill was only $22.36. After eating we stopped and grabbed Bob a birthday card and some scratchies(hope he won) then we headed to Northstar.

Now, last time we went to this particular bar they didn't ask me for my debit/credit card to start a tab, I just assumed they knew we always go there so we are cool. I was surprised that they remembered my last name to run the tab. Either they love our tips or they remember lushes(I am going with they love our tips). We stumbled upon Mikey Doyle and Georgie; man can they talk. The bar filled up pretty quickly and most people were chatting about how confident they were the  Bruins would win. After paying the tab and heading to the car to get my Towelman attire we find a parking ticket on MikeyT's Jeep. We were paid till 7:03 but somehow got a ticket at 6:50? How the fuck does that work?

We roll into the Garden at 7:15 and there are no fucking towels to be had. The damn Ice Girls had given them all out. This can not be a good thing. How can Towelman have no towels? First the ticket, now this but to make matters worse Sterling, the beer vendor has been fired. That's a motherfucking trifector before the drop of the puck. The only thing we have to counter this increasing black cloud is the fact MikeyT figures out Albie and his sister Tyese have been named after Al Be Sure and the R&B superstar Tyrese. LETS GO BRUINS!

The crowd is pretty pumped up for this game and why shouldn't they be - game 7 at home, winner moves on and every game has been decided by 1 goal. Everyone is at their seats(either sitting or standing) as they announce Reggie Lemlin as the honorary captain for the game. I was more of a Moog guy but who doesn't love the footage of Lemlin pumping that old school helmet after a win?

The Bruins are flying high in the 1st period but the Caps score 1st. After one we are down 1-0. We meet up at our usual spot, the Hub Bar, after each period to shoot the shit. We discuss the game and the fact that Sterling got shitcanned (I blame Rio's sister but that's for a different blog) then its back to the seats for the 2nd period. Tyler Seguin ties this bitch up at 1 and that's where the score stands after 2. I grab a pretzel and meet up back at the Hub bar. As has been the norm the past 6 games or so that I have attended, the 50/50 raffle lady seeks out our table to buy raffle tickets after each and every 2nd period, tonight is no exception. MikeyT gives her a ration of shit about how she has never sold a winning ticket and the whole thing is a scam but we still throw up our cash. Ben Gunn and his new lady have made a surprise visit to the Hub Bar. Apparently, they could see us from the balcony and wanted to share in on the laughs. There is a ton of action to start the 3rd and plenty of chances for the Bruins to score but they never seemed to get a lucky bounce this whole series and tonight that was not going to change. After some tense moments the 3rd comes to a close and we are headed to overtime. Since they no longer are serving beers we are no longer meeting up after periods. As they clean the ice, I get my smiling face up on the Jumbotron. There is an anxiety creeping over the crowd. They can tell a dirty goal is going to be the difference between going to round 2 and going to play golf. The action was fast, back and forth like the last round of a heavy weight fight. The Bruins tried a dump that was intercepted causing a break the other way. That rush was partially broken by the defense scrambling to get back but somehow Mike Knuble got a backhand shot off. Thomas made the initial save but never got a chance on Joel Wards overtime-game-winning-game 7-goal as Knuble crashed the net.

I do not want to sound like a homer but shouldn't the series winning over time goal be reviewed if there is a player standing in the crease and the goalies face is jammed into his stomach? I am not even saying that it was interference but shouldn't it be reviewed?

Tip your caps to the Caps. I still hope they lose in the next round.

If you hear sound bites on Toucher and Rich of someone screaming "MAKE THE SAVE THOMAS" then that was probably MikeyT being interviewed by Adolpho after the game. All I could do was swear.

Till next season Bitches!!

Blah

Its Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals tonight and I am having a hell of a time trying to focus. My brain is all mumbo jumbo'd!

This is what I learned this weekend:
1. There is a guy who sells lobsters off the Nut Island pier on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
2. Who knew Batman drove a Kia Optima:
3. Charles V Grillo knows the top 3 DJ's in the world.
4. I would of seen NKOTBSB if I knew Naughty By Nature would be there.
5. I stopped into Building 19 to look for a kiddie pool for my dog - That place has everything.
6. Phase 2 of the wall is done:
7. Some people don't like it when you call em "BROTHAH" HAAAA!!
8. I am pissed that I just started watching Game of Thrones on HBO. The show is the shit. I am 4 episodes in...can't wait for the rest.
9. You can tell the summer has started because Friday afternoon traffic is abundant.
10. Grillo uses SHAZAM for everything. Kind of cheating.
11. Supah P's side business is taking off 617-777-9605. If you need some odds and ends done around your house, a new tile job in the bathroom, maybe a new kitchen back splash,  a stone patio or a stone walk way give him a call and he can give you an honest quote.
12. Katie can bang out a mean blueberry cake.
13. When CVG says he is going to buy the first 2 buckets the kid delivers with picking up the whole tab!
14. I still love 5 bootlegs for $20.00!
15. Matty is working down at Tony Keith bar in Foxboro.
16. People are dropping from Words with Friend left and right.
17. Dogs do not like corn on the cob.
18. I can't figure out if people are more happy that the Mavs won or that the Heat lost??

The Wolf pack is getting together for Game 6. If anyone wants to come down to the Garden area we should be throwing em back at North Star.

I hope to share with you all a great review tomorrow.

No more snow

This is some mighty fine weather we are having. One day it is 65 degrees and beautiful out the next 32 with a snow and sleet mix. Global warming - Isn't it grand?

I have always been a fan of the Harpoonfest but maybe they should expand it back to Thursday through Sunday or start earlier in the day on Saturdays. It gets packed before 4:00pm and the line is at least an hour long. Oh well enough bitching about lines...I went, got smashed and passed out, it was an overall successful day.

Things I learned this weekend:
1. Smiddy is currently OFF the market. His FB status has been changed to currently not single. Don't cry ladies.
2. There could be something in the Harpoon beers at the brewery. 9 beers and I was super bombed.
3. Mario made his own brew and will be having a party to celebrate sometime in the near future.
4. This whole spring ahead and fall back is a scam!
5. St. Pattys day party at Kohanskys Sunday - 3 floor extravaganza.
6. Crown Royal is expensive...$101 bucks for shots - OUCH!
7. Manny Fernandez sucks more than I ever thought. Hey when you leave don't let the Zakim Bridge hit you in the ass on your way out.
8. The Celtics need some time to work the new guys in.
9. The Tourney is coming and the games are getting more and more exciting.
10. A large 1 topping pizza at Papa Ginos cost $15.00 dollars. I MEAN WTF IS THAT??

The race in the NHL east is heating up. The Bruins are 8 points ahead of the Devils and 9 ahead of the Caps.

The Montreal Cuntnadians are in 5th place with 77 points but could easily fall out of a playoff spot with the way the Hurricane and the Sabres are playing. There are 15 games left, it should be a fun ride.

Grade B-

Overall the Bruins did alright. They traded a guy who is hurt, Nokelainen, for some defensive depth and then traded two guys, Lashoff and Karsums, who may or may not be half decent for a left handed veteran and a draft pick. I give them a B- for not removing anyone from the current roster to make any moves.

Another trade deadline, and another move for Mark Recchi.

For the fifth time in his career, the veteran has been traded late in a season, this time the Tampa Bay Lightning dealing him to Boston. The Bruins also receive a second round draft pick in 2010.

"To get picked up by a first-place team is really nice and comforting. It's a team that thinks I can help, and I'm going to do everything I can to," Recchi said in a conference call. "Boston's been pretty successful the last few years with other sports. I think it's the Bruins' time."

The Boston Bruins also added some defensive depth and toughness by acquiring Steve Montador from the Anaheim Ducks for forward Petteri Nokelainen.

Trade deadline

Today is trading day boys. It is time for all the rumors to stop and for the real GM's to make some ballsy moves. After last nights debacle(suck it Iggles) it is apparently clear the Bruins need a big time Defenseman and a left handed shot. They could be one in the same.

If it were me and I were playing GM of the B's today, I would put all my cards on the table. Here is who I would make available:
1. Zack Hammill
2. Vladimir Sobotka
3. Jeremy Reich
4. Peter Schaefer
5. Petteri Nokelainen
6. Chuck Kobasew
7. Byron Bitz
8. Manny Fernandez
9. Any of the D other than Chara
10. Pusstrice Bergeron

Since I am not the GM today let hope Chiarelli makes some big time noise and not take some crap player to try to get us over the hump.

The dart team is in it's typical early season slump. We lost again this week, 7-4. The silent sniper has been praying to the porcelain god for the past 3 days and was unable to play. Jeffrey has been working on his house down in hull so he wasn't available and well we all know Jared quit on us. Bigshow hasn't shown up for a match yet and we are heading into week 6. Glad to see Mike G showing up and working the rust off.

Hump day is the best day.

I guess we can chat about a few things today.
1. The Snow
2. The Bruins
3. The Super Bowl
4. The fight Saturday night - UFC 94
5. Chrissys Stache vs FrankBrowns Stache

1. I mean when is the snow going to stop? It seems like once a week there is some snow fall. Plus these weather men are never right(or is it weather persons). One minute they forcast 12-16"'s of snow but we end up with 3-5"'s? Maybe it is not the snow that is getting to me as it is people with their lawn chairs, cones, barrels, milk crates, or any other piece of old furniture that they are leaving out to hold their spots. As much as I am bitching about the snow, the last time anyone actually had to shovel it was in 2008. This shit has been the light and fluffy variety since the get go. It may be time to call Mayor Menino's office and take him to task with the object removal.

2. The Bruins win 3-2 in OT...

R.O.A.R. (Rally On A Roadtrip) Party

Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Flyers Philadelphia

When: Wednesday, February 4 | 7:00 p.m.
Location: Hard Rock Cafe, 22-24 Clinton Street, Boston

Join fellow Bruins fans at the Hard Rock Cafe on Wednesday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m. for the second Rally On A Roadtrip watch party. Cheer on the B's as they take on the Flyers in Philadelphia. Blades and the Bruins Ice Girls will be on hand with great giveaways and prizes.

For more information, please call 617.624.BEAR(2327), Option 3 or email fanrelations@bostonbruins.com.

3. The Superbowl is this Sunday, February 1st.

I am taking Arizona and the Money line:
Line: Pittsburgh -7
OVER/UNDER: 47
Money Line: Arizona +245

So basically you bet $100 bucks to win $245. I know Pittsburgh has a nice defense but I don't think you can take all of Kurt Warner's offensive weapons. I like this bet.

Now the real question is where to watch the Super Bowl? Since the Patriots are not in it some people seem disinterested. The bars are not offering any food specials, drink specials and I still have no god damn squares.
The Celtics play at noon, The Bruins play at 2pm and the big game is at 6:15 that is a whole lot of sports and even more drinking.

Here are the options(per William J Smiddy)in no particular order:
1. The Junction - buckets of beers
2. DJ's at the garden - Mattys working
3. Slainte' (formerly the 6 House) - buckets of beers
4. The Goal Post - a Quincy Staple

Minnesota vs Celtics at Noon
Bruins vs Montreal at 2pm
Arizona vs Pittsburgh at 6:15pm

I AM DOWN FOR WHATEVER!

4. We will be going down to Coops in Quincy on Saturday night for UFC 94.

If you are in the area stop on down. It is always a good time there.

Playoff bus rolls on

It is Friday and we all know what happens on Fridays...WANNA B'S LIST UPDATE:

1. Billy Costa (Kiss 108s own radio personality)
2. Brian Ryan
3. Chuck Tofuri
4. Dan "Gary" Madden
5. Aiden Kelly
6. John "Phil Housley" Brewer
7. Mr Iggles
8. FrankBrown
9. Dale Arnold
10. Padriag Calnan - owns a Sid the Kid Jersey and wears it to bed
11. Lenny Graff
12. Jason Milligan

I think Jackie Edwards said it best..."I know the NHL is trying to reach out to the soccer moms for fan support but lets be realistic Brick, that is not the NHL fan base"...and neither are these fake fans listed above.
Hopefully by the end of the season we will have at least 100 names on this Wanna B's list. (Special Thanks to Broderick for some of the names on the list)

If you know someone who should be added to the Wanna B list send me a quick email at MRBOOZE187@HOTMAIL.COM. The B's band wagon you are either on it OR UNDER IT!

Great playoff win by Peggy O's. It was a race to 12 wins - Tuesday we came away with a 7-4 lead and last night we put it away with a 5-1 drubbing. As you can see from Handsome Jared, sometimes we take our drinking a little bit more serious than our darts.

For the 1st round of the playoffs the team named me the MVP. Now if you have seen me play darts you know that in of itself is a major feat. I played my best darts of my life. Great job by everyone this season - Handsome Jared, Supah P, Welchie, Foley, and J-Rock. Sorry to see Chuck T, MikeyShits, Gary and Mike G all quit or come up short in their commitment to Tuesday night darts. Lets keep this ball rolling.
If anyone would like to come and support us we have to play team "Camel Toe" at the 76 Corner Club in East Boston. Hopefully we play them at their place on Tuesday and then our bar on Thursday.

With 21 wins in their first 23 games, the Celtics eclipsed their franchise record for the best start to a season.

This current 13-game win streak is Boston's longest since winning 14 straight late in the 1985-86 season. Six more wins against New Orleans, Utah, Atlanta, Chicago, the Knicks, and Philadelphia -- five of them at home -- and they'll stand alone atop history, besting the 1969-70 Knicks and the 1966-67 Sixers, who each started 26-2. The Green is on a roll and damnit nothing short of a repeat is in order.

The Red Sox unveiled their new logo for their hats:

As well as their new/old uniforms:

Basically this is their older 1980's darker gray uniforms with the newer Boston script in blue across the chest, rather than the old blue block letters:

Sox single game tickets and Sox Pax go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 am!

A few things coming up and some friendly reminders:
1. 12 bars of Xmas tomorrow at 3:00pm raising money and supplies for Horizons for Homeless Children.
2. Tomorrow night is Singles night at the Bruins game.
3. FrankBrown is looking for ideas of things he can/attempt to do.
4. Iggles must be running out of greivances by now.
5. The street hockey game is Next Saturday, December 20th, 2pm till 4pm. Hopefully all can make it.
6. Only 13 more shopping days till Christmas.
7. My 31st birthday is 16 days away...lets all get drunk.
8. The end of the ADSL fantasy football season get together is fast approaching. 3 Sundays away on December 28th at The Atlantic Beer garden. Come by to cheer Smidawgs on. See who wears the dress to next years draft.
9. Whats the plan for New Years Eve this year?
10. The Boston Bruins 19th annual Wives Carnival is Sunday, January 4th.

Black Friday

Today is Black Friday. Some people got up today at an ungodly hour to go shopping and try to get the best shopping deals around. Me personally, NOT A FAN. I know a $399.00 lap top is a great deal and all but I am pretty sure you could get it for $429.00 at some point during the year. You have to weigh the $30.00 savings against: getting up at 3:30 am, mapping out a shopping route, fighting off groups of old ladies/housewife/mother-daughter tandems, and then the lines! LINES LINES LINES!!! Lines every where. Lines to get into the stores. Lines to pick up big ticket items. Lines to purchase the steals of the day.
NO THANKS
You can keep your $2.00 DVDS, 60% offs, "door busters", Extra early morning additional 20% offs, and all the other bullshit that is involved with this crazy day. I'll sleep in and pick up my deals throughout the year.

I hope that everyone had a fun and safe Thanksgiving holiday. I know I did.

Now onto my college picks. I know last week 2-5 NOT a good start.
WV -3 Pitt - I'm riding the Pat Whites, oops West Virginia Mountaineers over Pitt today. Nice season Davey
Va Tech -8 over Virginia - Va tech, Must win to get to the ACC championship game, in Blacksburg - Nuff said
Bama' -14.5 Auburn - Usually Auburn plays Bama tough but Nick Saban needs a decisive win before his big SEC Championship showdown against Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators
South Carolina +1 Clemson - normally I don't like to pick against Clemson in Death Valley but Dabo Swinney just doesn't do it for me
Wake Forrest -4 Vandy - Vanderbuilt we hardly knew ya. 5-0 to start the season and just 1-6 since? I don't think you get that Bowl bid

THIS JUST IN: BRUINS BAND WAGON IS FULL!!!
You had 1/4th of the season and now the door is closed...

The Wanna B's list has started:
1. Billy Costa Kiss 108s own radio personality
2. Brian Ryan
3. Chuck Tofuri

B's Highlights

I know I know
I don't normally post youtube videos(since they don't load at work) but since tomorrow is D-day to get on the Bruins bandwagon I thought it would be nice to add some motivation to join.

Hope everyone has a safe Thanksgiving day.

Monday, November 24, 2008

Lets start the week off right

It's Monday so lets have another start to a great week.

This Thursday is Thanksgiving, which happens to be one of my favorite days of the year. Since me and the old lady both work on Turkey day we usually cook and celebrate on Wednesday night. Hey mans gotta eat.

After the beating the Bruins put on Montreal on Saturday night they are starting to heat up the sports pages again. The Sunday Herald had them in the front pages of the sports section. People are talking, now if we could only get Timmy Thomas some votes for the All Star game. Vote early and vote often. Unless you want to see some dirty Cuntnadians win all the spots.

Today the Bruins reveal their 3rd uniform:

I think it is alright. Nothing spectacular. I do like the new logo overall though.

Friday is the Black out game. If you are going to the game wear a black shirt or just get there early enough to get one of the free shirts they are handing out.
B's bandwagon is almost full get on while you still can.

The Wanna B's list has started:
1. Billy Costa Kiss 108s own radio personality
2. Brian Ryan

If you want to add anyone to the list or have a question for the mail bag send me a quick email to the address at the top of the page.

Saturday Saturday Saturday

I know, I know I always write on Fridays. Well yesterday I wasn't feeling it so... SUCK IT!!

Lets start with a shot gun beer for breakfast, FrankBrown style:

Frank keep trying to make them shotguns a little bit faster. One day you may be able to beat an 11th grader.

Now lets put our glasses on so that we can read this a little bit better:

Last night was Hanson Brothers Night, from Slap Shot,at the Bruins game. The first 10,000 fans got these glasses. Mikey T was fortunate enough to score a pair.

This is where we were sitting - Matty, Brian, Mikey T and I. Not bad for some free seats. The Bruins really hook you up when you buy season tickets. Four free tickets to a game, two rows from the ice? Thanks Mr. Jacobs.

Since it is Saturday and all I usually do is watch College Football, here are my picks for today:
West Virginia -7 over Louisville - Pat White can not be stopped
Virginia +3 over Clemson - Al Groh at home
Vanderbuilt -3 over Tennessee - Fulmer it was time to call it quits last year
Michigan State +15.5 over Penn State - I'll take the points, even though MSU hasn't beaten Penn State at home since 1965
ECU -6.5 over UAB - WHAT THE FUCK IS UAB??
IOWA -6 over Minnesota - I like the Golden Gophers at home but I think Shonn Green is too much for them.

Tomorrow we should all be down the new Atlantic Beer garden watching football and drinking beers. Feel free to stop down

Lots to talk about

It is Wednesday and we have tons to chat, talk and bullshit about.

The B's host the Sabres tonight. Should be a good match up. The B's are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. The band wagon is filling up people. You have EIGHT DAYS till the cut off. After that you will be put on THE WANNA B'S LIST. Every Friday I will update THE LIST with new names of the Wanna B'S!!

Since the Bruins are doing such a bang up job lets give a little love for Rene Rancourt, Bruins national anthem singer extraordinaire:

Rene Rancourt (born 1939 in Lewiston, Maine) is a professional singer. He has sung the U.S. and Canadian national anthems at Boston Bruins home hockey games for over 30 years. Rancourt is such a part of the Bruins' establishment that he is the only person mentioned by name in the Dropkick Murphys' song: "Time to Go". He does not have a contract with the Bruins. According to Rancourt, "I’ve never had a contract; I’ve always just shown up and I’ve become associated with the Bruins."

Rancourt first began singing the anthem in Boston at Fenway Park. He took part in an opera singing audition on the radio and was heard by John Kiley, long-time organist at both Fenway and the Boston Garden. Rancourt sang before Game Six of the World Series in 1975 when singer Kate Smith cancelled her appearance. Rancourt's ambition was to become an opera singer. The strength of his trained voice overcame the acoustic shortcomings of the old Boston Garden. In 1976, he began singing regularly for Bruins games.

Rancourt's signature fist-pump at the end of the anthem was modeled after the Stump Pump of former Bruin, Randy Burridge, whom Rancourt admired. Rancourt also salutes at the end of the anthem.

Rancourt still performs the anthem before Bruins games, as well as singing at auto races, charity events, and nursing homes in and around New England. Rancourt has not publicly revealed his age, although a 2004 Boston Globe article gives his age as 60-something.

Quick story about Rene - A few years back, Mikey T and I are pre-gaming at Who's on First for the RED SOX/ORIOLES opening day. Guess who was drinking and hanging out, Rene Rancourt. He went on stage about a 1/2 hour before game time and starts singing the National Anthem. About 3 lines into the song, he stops and tells everyone singing along to "Shut the fuck up, you can't sing it as good as me". The whole place went nuts. Good times had by all.

The Celtics are 10-2 on the year. They won last night 110-101 over the Knicks. KG did not play, after being suspended for bitch smacking Andrew Bogut - bitch wanted some bitch got some.
Scal after hitting his monstrous 3:

Lil D won the MVP of the American League. Congrats to him. He should be a good player for a long time.

After a few rough weeks the dart team is back on track. We won last night 8-3. We only have 2 weeks left to make the playoffs. This is our last push. Danny AKA Gary is quitting the team after this season. He does NOT want to play the winter season. Does anyone else want to join the dart team? We always have room for 1 more.

This Saturday BC plays Wake forest at 3:30 and then the Bruins play the Canadians at 7:00. Seems like a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon/evening.

Have a nice week!

Buzz

Happy Friday Everyone!!!!!!!

So the boys and I went to the Bruins - Canadians game last night. WOW! The Garden was simply ELECTRIC. We sat in Section 8 and we were surrounded by a few too many Canadian fans!! They all were wearing their Kovalev, Higgins, and Koivu shirts/jerseys. One of the Asshat CUNTNADIANS who sat in front of us didn't even have the simple courtesy to take off his hat during the national anthems. I mean at least show some respect, EH? Anyway after 3 fast paced hard hitting periods...The B's won 6-1. Marco Sturm and Stephan Yelle had 2 goals each, Shawn Thornton and Milan Lucic each scored as well. Someone may want to tell Mike Komisarek that he does NOT want to go one on one with LUCIC!!

Here are some game highlights(Lucics fight is at about 5 minutes):

Jackie Edwards put it best - "THE GARDEN IS PACKED AND HOCKEY IS BACK IN BOSTON".

I know the Bruins have a long way to go to getting some back page notoriety again but this game is THE START. A HUGE ASS WHOOPING START. The Celtics were an afterthought until last years 17th championship.

The bandwagon is filling up and filling up fast. I have conferred with my peeps, well Welchie and Mikey T, and we are all in agreement - YOU have until November 27th, yup that's right THANKSGIVING DAY to get on this rolling train. If you think we should extend the bandwagon cut off date leave me a comment. Now get off your asses and support these guys.

The Pats lost a tough one in OT last night. Great game by Matt Cassel 30-51 for 400 yards, 67 rushing yards, and 3TDs. The defense had a tough 4th quarter and OT.

Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

Now me? Since it is Friday I am looking forward to the weekend!!!

The Bruins had a nice win last night beating the Maple Leafs 5-2. Congrats to Blake Wheeler on his number change and his hat trick. I really like this team. Everyone plays hard and fast. B's vs the Sabres Saturday night at the TD Bank North Garden. If you are heading over to the game, stop over at DJs. When Chuckie Kobasew comes back what line is he going to play on? Or will he ride the healthy scratch pine?

Today, at 2:00 pm down at the Heights is the Doug Flutie statue dedication blah blah blah.
The Pride of Natick yadda yadda yadda. Hey Doug you had ONE great PLAY at BC - GET OVER YOURSELF!!!

Wednesday

Just wanted to give a shout out to the dart team. We beat the #1 team in the league with a 7-4 whooping last night. It was great to see Adams and Foley back in action. They may just be the spark that we needed to get over the hump. J-Rod and Adam played lights out. Gary is feeling his way through it all. Lets hope Jeffreys Bell-Biv-Devoe gets better soon. Next weeks game is at the Pony room. Come by and drink if ya want. Lots of laughs!

Congrats to Adams and his wife on being preggo!!! Baby Kevin is on the way.

Just so you know my Bruins season tickets came in yesterday.

Very very exciting. Lots of buzz surrounding this team. I am hoping that they keep the Sturm-Bergeron-Kessel and the Ryder-Savard-Lucic lines in tact. I think we could be onto something.
I'll be going to the game this Saturday. Pre-gaming at DJ's at the Garden. Come on down if you want some beers, shots and watch some college football.

I forgot how fun the T can be. I was at Andrew Station yesterday afternoon when a female was flipping out. She was telling me, well I assume it was me she was talking to since I was all the way down the opposite end of the platform, that she was going to go and stab the the attendant because she wouldn't let her in for free. "I will stab her over a $1.50", "That bitch don't know me", "No, No, No let me call my man - Tyrone? Yeah you best get down here to Andrew...Imma bout to slap this bitch!". Needless to say that was the highlight of my day(Prior to the Bruins tickets coming).

Peace
