13. Speaking of Dunkin Donuts when did the drive thru become more of a priority than actual customers standing in line?
14. I have been trying to figure out the best way to make ribs. Anyone have any suggestions?
15. Sunday drivers are a real thing. Fucking people without a care in the world just driving around like zombies.

Busy Busy Busy

Busy times grabbing booze and beers for this damn storm. Sorry for the delay in posting. I am sure you guys are dealing with the liquor stores running low on beers too.

This is what I learned this weekend:
1. People didn't watch the World Series but they know that Taco Bell is giving away free Doritos Locos tacos because of a steal during the game.
2. Hippos milk is pink. WHAT?
3. The 1st TV toy commercial to air on Tv  was in 1946 for Mr. potato head.
4. Lots of young people are leaning towards voting for Romney.
5. Chrissy put a hurting on the nachos at Toby Keith's bar:

6. I have a tendency to not remember things when I drinking without eating anything.
7. I appreciate all the people offering a place for me to stay when we flood out.
8. Rob Knudsen is already making up excuses for not making the annual hockey game in December.
9. Julian is ready for Movember:
10. Congrats to my brother on 2 years of being sober.
11. People get crazy at the supermarket when there is an impending storm. I MEAN CRAZY!
12. If you want/need updates from National Grid text "storm" to 64743.
13. Jeffrey is accepting all donations to keep a mustache for MOVEMEBER. All $$ raised will be donated to Dana Farber.

17. Who is making Shaun Larry's bachelor party this Saturday?
18. I don't know what the rules are but I am pretty sure you can't get in trouble for checking out a chick at a Halloween party. I mean you gotta try and verify how accurate the costume is.
19. People want to know when Supah P and Chrissy are going to start their mustaches for the pub crawl.
20. Big Congrats to Supah P for 1. leading the dart to 1st place so far this year and 2. for buying a house in Pembroke.

You cant have this...

JohnnyB told me about the meat monster; so I had to look it up. After reading about it, all I could think about is how Supah P has been making his own surf and turf burgers from Mickey Ds for years - 1 QP with cheese and a Filet O fish jammed together on the burger bun. Now where is his royalties Mr Mickey Ds.

Yahoo.com - Fast food chains like McDonald's don't become global brands by cooking up the same old burgers and fries in every country.

Chains wishing to hang a shingle in a new country generally follow a strategy known as "localization," tailoring their menus to fit local tastes. In some cases it's subtle (in China, for instance, you can get chili garlic sauce with your McNuggets) while in other cases the menu is almost unrecognizable (in India, you won't find any beef or pork at burger chains).

That means that fast food fans in other countries get menu items that Americans can only dream of. Here are a few we wish we could have.

The Meat Monster (Burger King, Japan)

150worldfood-monster.jpg
When most people want to put something on their burgers, they usually think of toppings like cheese, bacon, onions and tomatoes. The geniuses at Burger King put all of that on, then decided to throw on a chicken breast for good measure.

The result is the Meat Monster, a sandwich available at Burger King in Japan only. Perhaps the beast of a burger was meant to appeal to Japan's love of kaiju (monster) movies; in any case, we know it appeals to us. Bring this one stateside, Burger King.

1worldfood-mcveggie.jpg
McVeggie (McDonald's, India)

McDonald's has never been a preferred destination for vegetarians. While the fries no longer contain beef flavoring (the company discontinued the practice in 2001 in response to a lawsuit), meat-free customers still don't have too many choices beyond a few token salads.

Things are a bit different in India, though. Hinduism is the dominant religion there, which forbids consumption of beef and pork, and vegetarianism is widespread. The result is the rare spectacle of a McDonald's with no hamburgers. In addition to the standard Filet-O-Fish, you also get the Chicken Maharaja Mac and the McVeggie, the latter of which uses bread, potato, peas, carrots and Indian spices.

McZüri (McDonald's, Switzerland)
150worldfood-mczuri.jpg
Starting this month, McDonald's Switzerland has starting rolling out experimental new items that cater to local tastes. While the McGrillschnägg — a sausage made from Swiss pork — certainly looks appetizing, the standout star for us is the McZüri, made from 100% Swiss veal. Yes, we said veal. The patty is accompanied by mushrooms and caramelized onions. Apparently McDonald's is a bit more upscale in Europe.

Paneer Tikka Sub (Subway, India)

150worldfood-paneer.jpg
Subway's menu isn't as beef-intensive as McDonald's meat-centric offerings, so its 223 Indian locations aren't as unrecognizable as McDonald's Indian restaurants. But there's definitely some local flavor there in addition to the usual lineup for sandwiches, including chicken tandoori and tikka subs. And there are plenty of options for vegetarian customers, including the paneer tikka, which the site describes as "cottage cheese slices marinated with barbeque seasoning and roasted to a light crispness."

Krushers (KFC, Germany)
worldfood-krushers.jpg

In the U.S., KFC has focused on chicken products and generally stayed away from doing anything too creative in the dessert space, but in other countries it's a much different story. KFC locations in Australia, Germany, South Africa and other countries offer a line of dessert drinks known as Krushers, which come in such flavors as mango, strawberry, Kit Kat and Triple Choc Crunch. The drinks are mixed with large chunks of fruit or candy (including sliced-up strawberries and Oreo cookies). To slurp up the chunks, the drinks come with extra-wide straws.

Bubur Ayam McD (McDonald's, Malaysia)

150worldfood-bubur.jpg
Apparently bubur ayam — which translates to "chicken broth," according to Google — is a traditional Malaysian dish. And according to the English-language McDonald's Malaysia website, the Bubur Ayam McD consists of "juicy chicken strips in mouth-watering porridge, garnished with spring onions, sliced ginger, fried shallots and diced chilies ... just like mum's cooking!" We're guessing that this dish won't be coming to the U.S. anytime soon, but we'd still be curious to try it.

Trio Supremo (Burger King, Brazil)

150worldfood-trio.jpg
Burger King is now owned by a Brazilian company, 3G Capital, so we expect the Brazilian locations to have top-notch cuisine. And Burger King Brazil has indeed come up big with the Trio Supremo, which comes with chicken nuggets, onion rings and French fries smothered in cheddar cheese and bacon bits. The whole thing amounts to 1,072 calories and 58 grams of fat. As far as we're concerned, America is up to the challenge of this one.

Triple Double

Chicago - For those who think the Double Stuf Oreo is too dainty, Kraft Foods' has launched the Triple Double Oreo which combines a layer of vanilla cream, a layer of chocolate cream and three layers of chocolate Oreo cookies.
"Our fans' passion and enthusiasm has challenged us to raise our game," said Jessica Robinson, associate director of consumer engagement, Kraft Foods. "We are looking forward to engaging with Oreo fans as they share their twisting, licking and dunking moments with the new Triple Double Oreo cookie."

The new cookie is actually a new take on Argentina's Oreo "x3" (pronounced "Por Tres") cookie, introduced in 2010.
"The birthplace of OREO is America, but it's one global cookie," says John Ghingo, senior director of global marketing for Oreo.

Now I am not a huge fan of Oreos. I mean I will snack on a few but a few is really all I can have.  I rarely have more than 6 Oreos at a time.

I know some blog readers, Mario and Supah P, would love to have an Oreo eating competition. Eat as many as you can within 15 minutes with 1 glass of milk. Who would be in for this? How many could you eat?

This whole triple double Oreo may take it to a whole new level!!

Week 8 review

I guess Mike Foley will be taking back his weekly blogging/review rant about darts, starting next week(he also plans to contribute more golf stuff and other things he finds out there). He is currently in "Washington D.C." for a work conference. I put "Washington D.C." in quotes because I was informed that the D.C. stands for dirty cock and he is actually playing out a gay fantasy in our states capital.
You know what I always say - to each his own.

Since KevBarry has moved on to Tampa, I decided to reach out to CBV(Crazy Bob Valente), to see if he wants to return to the Repeat Offenders - DTF. Here is his response:
"Just closed on house in Bridgewater..trying to fix it so I can move in...between that and work it is not likely for another month or so....sorry". I think a NO would of worked just fine, so it looks like we may be rolling with only 8 now. Oh well good luck to KevBarry on his Florida adventure, 1. I hope he doesn't get any Tampon Bay sporting apparel that means Rays or Lightning and 2. Make sure you at least pull out. Don't want any little KevBarrys running around Florida with their chest hairs blazing (I met your father).

As I was making out the roster, I was told by Shaun Larrbear Larry Bobby Rickey Dillon that he wanted to be in matches early because he has been up fucking his new lady late into the night and he needed to catch up on his sleep. DJ Brighto was running late so he didn't get into any 501 matches, he also didn't bring his DJ equipment(Thank GOD) but he has been practicing hard to do some gigs.  This is all in between getting his pizza business up off the ground and cleaning up his act.  The kid is liquid gold.

I didn't take any notes since I had to score 4 out of our 6 matches. Plus as I told the team - that's not my style. I probably forget more than I remember.  I am pretty sure I missed a shit ton of goodness but hey it is what it is. First off, who comes to a bar with a calculator? Apparently the other team rolls with one. We have to do old school math to keep score, since our electronic board went out to be repaired in January and still hasn't been returned. It is not all that difficult to subtract from 501 or 301 but it gets hectic when people are throwing and you are still trying to calculate scores.  Secondly, I made one math mistake all night and it was a simple 258 - 100 and some how I came up with 148?? I was drinking but not all that much.  I can't make any excuses I am just a big dummie.

Onto the matches:

501's (2-1) -
Derek and Jeb grinded one out - win(Jeb you have to wait for their turn before you throw your darts)
Supah and Welch came out blazing - win
Jeffrey and Larrbear were chasing numbers down and wiring everything - loss

Cricket (3-0) -
Brighty loves to play with Jeffrey. They were done before I could get a round of beers - win
Welch and Supah( hanging and banging since 1983) banged it out - win
Larrbear and Jeb would not be stopped - win(I know we have already address this but Jeb you have to wait for their turn before you throw your darts)

301's (4-2) -
I lost 2-0. I couldn't get in and when I finally did I was wiring everything. basically I sucked extra bad with Mayonaise - loss
Welch went to a 3rd game but came through - win
Jeb's head wasn't totally with us this night but he battled  - loss
Brighty dominated even though with 24 left he went for an 8 double 8 rather than a straight double 12 - win
Jeffrey, who isn't exactly happy that people are getting credit for his tough darts each week, played very well and could of at one point went for a double 20 double 20 double bull. Good to see him doing all the math to get on an out that he's comfortable with - win
Supah would not be denied as he finished off his opponent - win

Overall we finished 9-3. We are at the Pony room next week. Come on down, I will be at the B's - Blackhawks game.

Week 5 Dart review

Not only can the kid grow a tremendous beard but he can whip up a dart review. From the mind of Supah P:

This weeks daht review starts with news that Kevin Barry is leaving us for sunny Tampa for work and a new car with 2 powah mares.

Larry Kite has given up the infamous red champion for a smeeedium champion t-shirt.
Folley was MIA, must have been out joy riding the new Lexus. Welchie showed but not in time to see the Jeffery dance.

Derek's math skills were seamless all night and JEB had another bad day when he left his phone at work.  Jeffery still hates Kanye West and who could forget DJ Brighto's words of wisdom {take care brush your hair}.

On to the matches Jeb n Derek won the 1st 501 with Derek nailing double 5 for an out.  Jeffery n Brighty lost the 2nd, 80 left brighty does for double 20 double 20? Wtf!! Larry n KevBarry won the 3rd match of 501 with ease.
Supah P n Jeb won 1st cricket against 1 guy.  Jeffery n Brighty followed it up with another win. The last cricket was played well by KevBarry n Larry but couldn't close out on the bulls(that missed single 15 came back to bite them in the ass).

Derek came out in the 1st 301 which came down to the last game but he lost.  Jeb and the guy he played had back 2 back tons with Jeb as the victor.  KevBarry had a marathon on the double 1 and ended up with the loss.  Supah had automatic win cause they only had 5 guys. That leaves Brighty who finished up with a commanding 91 out - triple 17 double 20.

Till next week bitches.

Supah P beard update

The fur is the cure for the winter time blues!

The wheels are falling off...

The dart team is in shambles!!! We lost 7-4.
1. Mike G had to work late and he couldn't make darts.
2. Big Bob Valenti had his spleen removed and was resting up for next week.
3. Handsome Jared STRAIGHT UP QUIT before our matches...WALKED OUT ON THE TEAM JUST LIKE GARY.
4. BigShow has yet to actually show up and play. Do you still want on the team Show?
5. I do not believe we have won a cricket match this season.
6. Supah P was throwing up blood but managed to play through it and win his match.

Player of the week Sean "Supah P" Meehan.

Lets hope that we can right this ship before next week.

The Bruins put a beating on the Panthers last night, 6-1.

Here are the current standings:

If the playoffs were to start tomorrow the play offs would look like this:
#1 Bruins vs #8 Sabres
#2 Caps vs #7 Panthers
#3 Devils vs #6 Rangers
#4 Flyers vs #5 CUNTnadians

Those are some really good match ups but we still have to wait till the end of the season. A whole lot can change in the next 21 games. I am pretty sure there are secret Wanna B's who have been hiding all season and they will start popping out around playoff time. Everyone should be on high alert. You will be able to spot them with their new Bruins apparel and their limited knowledge of only the current team. Keep up the good work and keep the names coming.

On a side note - I am giving up soda for Lent!
