2nd time
This is only the second time I have received an email for the blog. The first time it came from Doe. This time from a concerned Bruins fan:
Dear New Boston Bruins Bandwagon Fans,
First of all welcome aboard. We here in the Hub Of Hockey are NOT part of any "nation", we don't charge you to be fans or care if your hat is pink we just expect you to come aboard with some knowledge and respect for the team and the game. Bruins fans aren't like the football or baseball "nation" where we stand in your face and tell you that you don't know the sport and proclaim to have suffered for upteen years (though its been since 1972). We will and have called out wanna B's in the past but at the end of the day we want people who care about the effort being put out by the Bruins. You can question the coach, management and players as you see fit but be knowledgeable about it and using the same old "owners don't pay or care" is no longer accurate or acceptable. We all long for the Big Bad Bruins but the league has changed and if you're planning on sitting there yelling for bench clearing brawls its probably going to be a disappointment. The team, like it's fans are still blue collar so if your intent is to "be seen" at a game aka Fever Pitch type I'd recommend not taking up a seat. Being a fan of all Boston sports the passion at a hockey game and more specifically a playoff game is second to none I've left with sore hands from hi-fiving total strangers, I dare anyone to go to a game and say it wasn't electric. Those of you who left hockey "because of the lockout" or because its too soft or for whatever your reason I dare you to come back and not fall back in love especially in the Hub of Hockey. The offer to come aboard the bandwagon has been extended but don't think for one second if you act up or disrespect this special time me, Sully, Murph, Watchdog, Towelman and the rest of the residents of the bandwagon will hesitate to Pachioretty your ass! Hockey isn't back, It never left!! LETS GO BRUINS. Oh and if you get to a game and see Towelman tell him the bandwagon appreciates all he's done for us!
The Bandwagon.
If anyone wants to send me emails or texts or even telephone calls about the blog. Go for it. I will try to post any and all things.

Tick tick tick
The 4th Annual Mustache Pub Crawl is only a few days away. I for one can not wait. I wonder how many guys will show up either with training wheels or wearing a fake stache? Can anyone top Supah P's stache from last year? Will Chrissy have the balls to keep this years stache all the way to next year? Only time will tell.
This guy is ready:
Here is the schedule in case you are planning to attend.
22. Anyone interested in 4 tickets to the Sox game, May 16th? They are $52.00 each. Grandstand 29. Let me know.

Pandemonium
BOSTON -- For the first time since 1988 there is a waiting list for Boston Bruins season tickets, the club announced Friday afternoon.
The Bruins have reached their capacity for the 2011-2012 season in the loge and balcony (12,000 seats) and the waiting list already has 111 accounts (250 seats). This is the earliest in a calendar year the Bruins have reached this capacity.
“It’s great. It shows the demand for our season tickets,” said Bruins vice president of sales and marketing Amy Latimer. “Our team performance has certainly helped make the fans come back.”
The Bruins ended the 2010-2011 regular season having sold out 71 consecutive home game, which is the first time since 1972 the Bruins have done so.
It just so happens the last time the Bruins won the Stanley Cup was in 1972.
The price to get on the waiting list is $100 deposit per seat. There are benefits that come along with that, including additional offers for Bruins tickets and other Garden events.

‘Slutwalk’
BOSTON - Chanting "We love sluts!" and holding signs like "Jesus loves sluts," approximately 2,000 protesters marched Saturday around the Boston Common as the city officially became the latest to join an international series of protests known as "SlutWalks."
The protest movement, sparked by a Toronto police officer’s remark that women could avoid being raped by not dressing like "sluts," came to Boston after advocates saw similar events - largely organized through Facebook and Twitter - pop up in Canada, England and other parts of the U.S.
"We wanted to do something to show our support," said Siobhan Connors, 20, of Lynn, Mass., a Boston organizer. "We originally planned for a small event and expected about 30 people."
But by the time the march began Saturday, about 2,000 people - some dressed in lingerie with the words "slut" written across their stomachs - were in attendance.
In January, a Toronto police officer told a group of university students that women should avoid dressing like "sluts" to avoid being raped. He later apologized. The officer who made the comments, Constable Michael Sanguinetti, was disciplined but remained on duty, said Toronto police spokesman Mark Pugash.
However, advocates in Toronto held a "SlutWalk" to protest the officer’s remarks and to highlight what they saw as problems in blaming sexual assault victims. Since then, SlutWalks, organized mainly through social media, have been held in Dallas, Asheville, N.C., and Ottawa, Ontario. Organizers say the events also were held to bring attention to "slut-shaming," or shaming women for being sexual, and the treatment of sexual assault victims.
"I had watched the Toronto walk happen from afar," said Jaclyn Friedman, author of "Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape" and resident of Medford, Mass. "When I heard it was coming to Boston I just emailed the organizers and said, ’How can I help?’"
Organizers invited Friedman to speak.
Vanessa White, 33, of Somerville, Mass., also heard about the event through Facebook and showed up for the Boston event dressed in a pink jacket and fishnet stockings.
"For me ... it’s an attempt to reclaim the word ’slut’ itself," said White. "Because once you reclaim it, you take the power away from it."
Before the march, a small group of counter protesters, wearing colorful cowboy hats with feathers and holding a boom box that played hip-hop and 1970s funk, walked around the gathering. Dubbed the "PimpWalk," organizer Samuel Bilowski, 23, of Salem, N.H., said his group wanted to "get some numbers" and talk to attractive women.
"This is a pathetic attempt at a joke," admitted Bilowski. "We’re just having fun."
Still, White and a group of other advocates surrounded Bilowski and his group and yelled the word "slut" repeatedly. Others verbally attacked Bilowski for glorifying violence against women.
Bilowski’s group eventually joined the SlutWalk march around the Common.
Following Boston, SlutWalk marches are planned in cities including Seattle; New York; Chicago; Philadelphia; Reno, Nev.; and Austin, Texas.
Now this is a protest they should do this every weekend............

Intense interest surrounds dog who may have participated in bin Laden raid

Americans are fascinated by the anonymous U.S. Navy SEALs who daringly raided Osama bin Laden's Abbottabad, Pakistan compound this week, but one canine commando is attracting especially fervent interest.
According to the New York Times and the British tabloid The Sun, a military dog (not pictured) was strapped onto one of the assault team members as he was lowered out of a Black Hawk helicopter and began the operation that killed the notorious terrorist on Monday. But who is this canine hero?
Sadly, we know very little, and the Pentagon has yet to confirm that a dog was even on the mission, much less release information about the canine's name or breed.
"Little is known about what may be the nation's most courageous dog," the Times' Gardner Harris writes. He speculates that the dog was most likely a German shepherd or a Belgian Malinois, since those are the breeds most often found in the military's 2,700-strong military dog program. (A new breed, however, is becoming popular with the troops. Labrador retrievers have begun to "wander off-leash 100 yards or more in front of patrols to ensure the safety of the route.")
The Pentagon and White House are keeping tight-lipped about the details of the operation, but that, of course, hasn't prevented commentators from speculating on the dog's role based on the functions of other war dogs in combat. "It's possible that the commandos brought a specialized search dog, which would have been sent in ahead of the humans to find explosives or people hidden inside the building," Slate's Brian Palmer writes. Or the dog could have been a "combat tracker"--canines who are specially trained to sniff out individuals and then follow their trail. Saddam Hussein was found in a hole under a hut--the assault team could have decided that they needed a good tracking dog in case bin Laden had a similar idea.
Dogs are increasingly important in America's combat operations abroad, and some have been outfitted with special (and adorable) "doggles" to protect their eyes, oxygen masks to protect their lungs as they parachute out with soldiers at high altitudes, and even waterproof vests that contain infrared cameras that transmit video back to servicemen watching a monitor yards behind them. Check out Foreign Policy's beautiful photo essay on military dogs here.
Luckily for this courageous and anonymous furry creature, there is some precedent for war dogs receiving military honors. The Navy awarded a Silver Star in 2009 to a dog named Remco who gave his life charging "an insurgent's hide-out in Afghanistan," Harris writes. According to Foreign Policy, another dog named Eli fiercely guarded his Marine, Private First Class Carlton Rusk, after he was shot by Taliban sniper fire in Afghanistan. Rusk's bomb-sniffing dog would not even let fellow Marines approach the wounded Rusk, who did not survive the attack. Eli now lives with Rusk's family.
The dog's role was not mentioned in any of the public White House press briefings on bin Laden's death, and we have yet to hear back from our request to the Pentagon's press office asking them to confirm his presence in the operation (and tell us what he looks like). We'll update this post if we get more information.
See people what did i use to say you always need a badass dog !
Happy Cinco De Mayo people...

Darts Update Week # 14
Just like the Celtics our team seemed to be in a funk. Nothing much was happening so I did not take any notes. After all of the make-up matches and bye weeks, we were 1 point behind first place going into the last match of the regular season. It was not likely the 3rd place team would catch us and the first place team was playing the last place team from their own bar and had us on the tie breaker so it really did not matter. We will find out the final standings later in the week but I think it is safe to say we will end up in 2nd.
The Results:
501's = 3 Wins - 0 Losses
Mark & Supa P got us off to a great start. P hit a 150 on his first throw and followed that up with turns of 7, 7 and 9. MW was solid and P hit the double 1 to close it out.
Jeb & Shawn played very well against a good team and took the next win.
Bright & I were up next trying to sweep the 501's. I jumped on with a 40 and Brighty closed it out from 76 with a very unorthodox single 3, triple 19, double 8.
Cricket = 2 Wins - 1 Loss
MW & P were back at it and got involved in an obnoxious BS point fest. If the midget from other team hit one more 16, Mark was going to fire a dart into the back of his head. They hung tough and hit a bunch of corks to keep it close but the 16's did them in.
Shawn and Bright played one of the better games I have see all year. They were hitting triples on almost every throw and took care of business fast.
Jeb & I played a relitively uneventful game and took an easy win.
301's = 2 Wins - 4 Losses
Mark played 2 very quick games and they were never in doubt = W
P had trouble getting in and lost in 2 = L
Shawn had two close ones but could not get it done = L
I took the 1st and 3rd game in my match to stop the slide = W
Jeb fell in 2 games against the best player on their team = L
Bright gave his opponent a good fight but came up short = L
Final Score = 6 - 5
When the playoff schedule is released it will be posted so you can make your plans. We play Home and Home matches on Tuesday/Thursday so you have no excuse for not making a game. Do the right thing and come on down for a few beers and some laughs.
'Til next time bitches,
Prez

5. The new Dunkin Donuts blueberry waffle sandwich is kinda gross:
6. Karl Osborns real name is actually Karlin! How did I just find this out.
7. Cranky wiggly babies who pass out are heavy! Dead baby weight.
8. William J Smiddy may be moving on from one job to the next but he is still crushing the ladies.
9. Martell was unsupervised and on the loose this weekend. I hope he didn't get into trouble.
10. Any suggestions on where I can get some decent work shoes.
11. Jeffrey is MIA! I haven't heard or seen from him since last Tuesday. I hope he is ok.
12. People are all over the place about the Bin Laden kill. Some don't believe it, some can't accept it and others believe Obama is to thank for it.
13. Ronin passed his obedience class and got a nice certificate.
14. I never leave things I learn on an odd number. I can't help it!

Hott Wing Challenge
everyone knows i love a good hott wing. im always on the look out for the hottest wing i can handle. guys at work have been getting alot of wings lately from Wings Express. its a pretty well known chain that i have had a few times before. its a good wing but even their "atomic" just didnt cut it. but one of them mentioned the one in waltham had a "suicidal challenge". well you know im in. so i head down to check it out. after ordering it and getting the usual talk about signing a waiver and how i shouldnt even try it, i was looking foward to it. my only concern was that i had to finish 6 wings in 10 minutes. were the wings gonna be too hott just to be hott or was there gonna be a good flavor to them? well my first bite i got my answer. they were HOTT!! holy shit. but dam i was very impressed that the flavor was great as well. now i got my eyes starting to water up, my nose starting to run and i cant use any napkins till after im done eating. so i said fuck it and just kept eating faster. hes grabbing his camera to take my pic for his wall of fame or wall of shame, but before he got it out of the case, i said im done. i finished them in just over 4 minutes. 3 bottles of water later, i could finally start to feel sensation in my mouth again. 2 big thumbs up for this challenge but one i happily conquered! as of this post, my pic was not up on their FB page but he said it should be up with in a week.
