Champs Grab Guard at 30
The Celtics selected guard J.R. Giddens with the 30th pick in Thursday's 2008 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-5 Giddens averaged over 16 points a game last season as a senior at New Mexico.
Boston stayed aggressive on draft day, trading for the draft rights to No. 47 pick Bill Walker from Washington in exchange for cash considerations. With the final selection in the draft the Celtics took center Semih Erden from Turkey.
